Bonnie Martin co-founded Estate Legal in 2017 with Amy Rudrum, bringing together decades of specialist expertise with a shared vision of creating a practice where clients receive outstanding personal service and direct access to senior lawyers.
With over 40 years dedicated exclusively to commercial property advice and litigation, Bonnie is recognised as one of the UK's leading property litigators. Clients turn to her for clear judgement, strategic thinking and the ability to cut through complexity, quickly identifying the issues that matter most and the most effective route to resolution.
Her expertise has been recognised by the leading legal directories for more than two decades, consistently achieving placement in the top rankings referring to her as an excellent litigator and brilliant negotiator.
Bonnie has acted in many landmark commercial property cases, including representing Mecca Bingo in the widely reported High Court test case during the COVID-19 pandemic involving Cineworld and Sports Direct. More recently, she successfully secured the highest damages award ever made for a light infringement in a landmark High Court rights of light dispute.
She advises many of the UK's leading retail, leisure and property investment businesses and is particularly recognised for her expertise in rent reviews, regularly providing specialist advice to arbitrators and independent experts.
Prior to establishing Estate Legal with Amy Rudrum, Bonnie was a partner at Clarke Willmott since 2005 but saw an opportunity to provide commercial property advice to clients in a different way. Today, clients continue to value her straightforward advice, commercial perspective and unwavering focus on achieving the best possible outcome. She is a qualified Arbitrator and Mediator and a member of the Property Litigation Association, ARBRIX and the British Institute of Innkeepers.
